The key to fast reading progress, at any age, is scaffolded practice that makes engagement easy and rewarding.
A reading practice revolution
Reading practice has always been hard and frustrating. That can lead to stress and disengagement.
But trainertext changes that. It makes practice each day successful and joyful.
Through this research-proven methodology, learners can accelerate their reading progress instantly.

Ada Best, Whitfield Primary
Trainertext completely transformed every child’s reading. It’s the tool we didn’t know we were waiting for all these years. No more strugglers!
How This is Different
- Innovative phonics methodology
Phonics has been around since 1570, largely unchanged. Trainertext is the first big innovation in the field of phonics. It uses a new Behavioural Learning Methodology to help build accuracy, fluency and confidence. - Age-appropriate resources
The resources used need to fit the learners. So we have a foundation resources for children just setting out, we have intervention resources for children struggling aged 6-11 and we have recovery resources for youths and adults.
- Unprecedented results
Schools using All Aboard Phonics achieve 94-100% functional literacy at the age of 7. An independent study found that children gained an average of 2 years in reading age in 4-6 months. And parents using that Easyread System get a guaranteed outcome. - Solutions for frustration
Some of the brightest children struggle with reading the most. That can be for different possible reasons. In order to deliver the correct intervention, you need to know the cause. We explore that with our Baseline Analytical Reading Test (BART).
How brains like to learn
Reading is a skill, like walking, talking and riding a bike. Every chiild needs to learn to read in the way the brain learns skills
You develop all skills through good coaching and good practice. You know how much easier it is to learn to ride a bike with trainer wheels. Trainertext works in the same way.
So trainertext is like a set of training wheels for learning to read. It is the perfect way to see steady progress and rising confidence alongside good, structured teaching.

The Trainertext Trust is dedicated to eradicating illiteracy through the spread of trainertext resources.
A shocking 25% of children leave school without functional, confident literacy. That needs to change. The costs to those individuals and the rest of society are huge.
The Trust mainly uses the resources created by All Aboard Learning, a research organisation that has been changing children’s lives since 2008.
FAQs
What age is trainertext suited for?
A child should not start trying to read until they are able to identify the sounds in words and blend sounds together to form words. From that point on, trainertext will make the journey to confident accurate reading so much easier. Our oldest student to date was 73. We will guide you towards the appropriate resources.
What is the underlying methodology?
Trainertext is based on what we call ‘Behavioural Learning Methodology’. The goal is the same as any synthetic phonics or science of reading approach, it is just how the learner practises their reading that is different. In a conventional approach the learner has to recall the letter to sound relationships (aka grapheme to phoneme correspondences, or GPCs). Those are often very inconsistent (e.g. gas/was, later/water, far/war, law/lawyer, sail/said, ache/achieve). So the child keeps getting stuck and stressed. With behavioural learning, the learner is able to work out each word (with the help of the trainertext) and their subconscious begins to map all of the letter to sounds relationships automatically, just by reading word after word. They learn by doing. It is extremely simple.
How widely used is it?
Trainertext is being used by schools around the world and the All Aboard Learning team has worked directly with over 15,000 parents and their children. Our mission over the next 20 years is to convert most schools to the benefits of the trainertext approach.
What about dyslexia?
We love working with dyslexics because they are usually very bright and surge forwards once they are given the right support. It is all about identifying the exact cause of their frustration with reading and knocking down that barrier. Then you can see them catching up fast
Does it fit with what is happening at school?
Yes. Trainertext is purely a tool for reading practice. So it works with any reading curriculum. Although we strongly recommend exploring All Aboard Phonics, which combines a conventional reading curriculum with trainertext resources.
